Client-Server Technology

The client-server technology is applied in SCADA Infinity to improve productivity and receive accurate data. Key tasks such as data collection and control, history storage, data interchange with third-party applications (including distributed ones) and report generation are realized by the following servers:

  • The I/O server ‒ interchange of real-time data.
  • The History Server ‒ storing and access to historical data.
  • Application Server - interchange of data with external applications and report generation.
  • Server of distributed data - interchange of data with geographically remote servers

Centralized Architecture

Optimum economic efficiency is achieved when using SCADA Infinity centralized architecture. Such tasks as data collection and control, history storage, interchange with external systems and report generation, are performed on one personal computer. At the same time, client tasks can be distributed on other workstations, or realized on the same personal computer.

Flexible topology allows to realize a distributed system from the point of physical location of the data sources and from the point of tasks performed. For example, all tasks are performed on one personal computer, and each geographically distributed object is provided with such personal computers. With use of the server of distributed data, data is interchanged between these personal computers, and data is also interchanged with the central control point.

Optimum performance is achieved when allocating tasks between personal computers. For example, the function of interchange of real-time data can be implemented on one personal computer. The server of historical data can be installed on the other personal computer, and the Application server can be combined with the server of distributed data. At the same time, client access to required data is provided only after specifying data source, and the subsystem of report generation includes all necessary data sources including external applications and data bases.

A special component is developed to organize a single information space of the geographically distributed production. The WebRouter protocol developed by EleSy Company, provides guaranteed data interchange and ensures stability, a large quantity of data, and additional encoding. The structure of the transport network can be built at random, and also with use of networks security displays, routers, and redundancy of connection channels. An efficient route is searched when transmitting data.
